The Archangel was the first complete kit for the Ruger 10/22 in which everything needed to transform a standard 10/22 into a flat-top AR-style rifle was included. It is designed to accommodate a standard 10/22-barreled action and is manufactured from tough, durable polymers.
Comprised of four main components, it includes upper and lower receiver housings, a freefloat tube and a muzzle device. The parts contain an aluminum replacement for the factory polymer magazine release.
Since the Archangel is an accessory kit as opposed to a complete rifle, I confirmed overall function once the 10/22-barreled action was incorporated. I immediately noticed that its AR-style pistol grip and collapsible stock made it easier to shoulder. Unlike an AR, however, the Archangel’s buttstock cannot be removed from its replica buffer tube.
Regardless, the components fit extremely well and lockup was positive with no visible signs of excessive play while telescoping.
